Meet Your Farmers

  • Virginia Champagne, Founder

Virginia started Blueberry Hill Organic Farm with her love of plants, food, and the health of her community in mind. She wants her customers to feel truly good about what they are eating, knowing their vegetables and fruits are free of chemicals, pesticides, or genetic alteration. She is growing crops in a way that is sustainable and healthy for the environment too! Virginia has degrees in Plant Science and Education and worked for many years in those fields, but her true love is farming. Currently, Virginia oversees all operations at the farm, serves as a member of the Killingly Agricultural Commission, hosts regular workshops for the community on topics like Organic Food & Gardening, Poultry Management, and Pollinator Habitat Establishment and teaches sciences and horticulture for Connecticut’s Community College system. In her spare time Virginia loves yoga, hiking, drumming and meditation. She is also a certified Reiki Master Teacher and offers healing appointments at the farm.
